Dr Vaughan originally trained as a physiotherapist, graduating from the University of South Australia in 2016. He gained broad clinical experience across private practice, paediatrics, and rehabilitation before pursuing medicine at Flinders University, where he graduated in 2022.

Since completing his medical degree, Dr Smith has worked at Flinders Medical Centre, Mount Barker Hospital, and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

He has a strong interest in rural and remote medicine, paediatrics, and dermatology.
