For all appointments and enquiries call (08) 8725 5266 or (08) 8723 1233.

Patients are encouraged when ringing to identify if their need is urgent so that our staff can assist in determining the level of urgency.

The clinic provides an emergency service each day for our patients with an urgent medical need these appointments are triaged by our practice nurses.

The standard consultation time is 10-15 minutes. Please advise when booking if you require a longer time or have a special purpose for example;

  • Long appointments (multiple items discuss)
  • Medicals (pre-employment, insurance or Centrelink)
  • Nurse procedures (immunisation, wound dressing or removal of sutures, cervical screening test)

You can also request a telehealth appointment (phone consultation) if appropriate for your situation, you must have been seen face to face in the clinic within the last 12 months to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Medicals for vehicle licences (heavy vehicles, passenger, taxi, commercial) and army/navy/air force medicals are best performed by the patient’s regular doctor.

Appointments for excisions and procedures are only made following a standard appointment where the doctor can discuss the recommended procedure including risks and benefits.

Home visiting is an important part of a community medical service and is available for regular patients whose medical condition prevents them from attending the clinic. If you require a home visit please ring as early as possible in the morning to enable the doctor to plan his or her day. Higher fees apply for home visits.

Hawkins Medical Clinic can also arrange a free interpreting service through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS). This is a free service provided by the Department of Home Affairs. Please advise our receptionist staff when a booking your appointment if you require an interpreter.

To improve on the day access for our patients we offer same day duty appointments. Our telephone lines open from 8am, and appointments on the day with one of our duty doctors are available from 9am. In times of high demand we recommend that patients call the clinic early to avoid disappointment. We still offer standard appointments for patients to book in to see their regular GP.
