Dr Gladman graduated from Flinders University. He has worked in Tamworth and Broken Hill. In Broken Hill, he worked with the RFDS and the local hospital. Prior to studying medicine, Dr Gladman worked in research and spent time in the Army.

He is a Senior Lecturer with Adelaide University Rural Health. He is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and accredited Medical Officer with Australian Motorsport.
