Hawkins Medical Clinic- Parallel Rural Curriculum Care Program
Flinders university has placed 3rd year undergraduate students in Hawkins Clinic since 2002 to undertake their study locally obtaining experience from within a general practice setting.
Two students were allocated to Hawkins Clinic each year until 2007. A third position was established in 2008 which enabled a third student to complete their year over a two year term. Students spend two sessions per week each sitting in with a clinic GP.
The program is administered within the region by Dr Lucie Walters and within Hawkins Clinic by Dr Mark Morgan.
