Why is my doctor late?

The doctor in the video explains why he may be late- our doctors experience some of the same situations in their daily consulting.

Here at Hawkins we understand our patients have busy lives and coming to the doctor can be stressful.  As a practice we pride ourselves on the quality of service we offer. Each of our doctors does their best to give their patients the time they need to discuss their concerns - which sometimes is longer than we have allowed and can result in them running behind schedule. We believe our patients value this rather than having to always return for another appointment. Please let a receptionist know if you have been waiting for more than 30 minutes. Our receptionists will try to keep you informed to the best of their ability on how your doctor is running.  We can’t always tell how long each consultation will take, but please know that we care about your time and will always endeavour to get to you seen by your doctor as soon as we can.

Walk in Repeat Prescription Clinic

In case you missed our last news feed, we now provide an alternative to ordering your repeat scripts over the phone. Attend the clinic Monday -Friday between 8:15 and 8:45am for a repeat prescription only bulk billed consultation.  No appointment necessary. Please note the patient requiring the script must be in attendance for these appointments.

Patients should be reviewed by their regular GP at least 6 monthly for some conditions. Please see one of our reception staff for more details.

Same Day Duty Doctor Appointments

To improve on the day access for our patients we now offer same day duty appointments. All patients need to do is either book online the night before (see online appointments) or phone the clinic before 10am and ask for a same day appointment. We guarantee you will be seen that morning by one of our duty doctors. We still offer standard appointments for patients to book in to see their regular GP.
